3.00 CE Hours Available

This program will identify and review many of the common problems and challenges of clinical supervision that occur in mental health and social services settings. Dr. Haarman will examine the roles and responsibilities of the supervisor and supervisee along with techniques for defining the goals and objectives of supervision. He will review and discuss common difficulties and specific problem situations that may occur during clinical supervision.

Dr. Haarman will also clarify the distinction between administrative supervision and clinical supervision, particularly where the potential for overlap or conflict exists. He will review specific supervisor competencies and the qualities and characteristics of effective supervision. He will also address difficulties with boundary violations that can occur between supervisor and supervisee.

Participants will have the opportunity to review a case study of a problematic supervisee and develop a sample remedial plan.
