Advanced Clinical Supervision: Ethical and Legal Aspects of Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervisors are legally and ethically responsible for the actions of those they supervise. Acting as a clinical supervisor increases the risk of legal or ethical actions directed at the supervisor. Participants will better understand their liabilities, ethical duties, responsibilities and specific strategies to be proactive in preventing many potential problems.
Dr. Haarman will review in detail the five major ethical issues in clinical supervision (Competence, Due Process, Informed Consent, Confidentiality, and Multiple/Dual Relationships). Most important, he will present eighteen specific and concrete ways to prevent supervisory issues.
