Getting Better Result: The Core Tasks and Skills of Expert Psychotherapists
All proceeds from the sale of this program benefit the Melissa Institute
Research indicates that 25% of psychotherapists obtain 50% more effective outcomes and have 50% fewer dropouts from therapy than other experienced therapists. This first of two courses of Dr. Meichenbaum’s Legacy Program identifies and describes the Core Tasks of Psychotherapy and the transtheoretical behavior change principles that are common across various therapeutic approaches used by "expert" therapists. The Core psychotherapeutic tasks include ways to establish and monitor the quality of the therapeutic alliance and the use of a Case Conceptualization Model that informs both assessment and collaborative treatment decision-making. A major focus includes using a Constructive Narrative therapeutic approach in order to have patients achieve long-lasting behavior changes.
This course also highlights how you can learn to spot HYPE in the field of psychotherapy and become a more critical consumer of psychotherapy. A set of Practical TO DO tasks are included.
