The Lancaster Host is now Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center

For many years, we hosted our live Continuing Education seminars at the Lancaster Host, a hotel and resort in the heart of Amish Country, Lancaster, PA.  As a hotel and convention center with a large auditorium, free parking, reasonable hotel rates, and many restaurants nearby, the Lancaster Host was a great option to accommodate our many guests for our two-day seminars.

Over the years, the hotel deteriorated. Fortunately, the Host was purchased in 2016 and the new owners began massive renovations.

For any of our returning attendees, the appearance is strikingly different. The Lancaster Host Hotel is now the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center. In this brief article, we will describe most of the changes, from the seminar stage to the guest rooms. Meet the new Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center

New Ownership

The Host was purchased in 2016 by hotel businessmen Kalpesh Vakil and Jason Cheng, who promised to breathe new life into every aspect of the dated resort. After a $27 million investment and three-year “extreme renovation,” the old Lancaster Host was completely transformed into a beautiful and modern resort, now a franchise of Wyndham Hotels.

New and Improved Guest Features

The brand-new lobby of the Wyndham includes a bar-style seating area with a fireplace and big-screen TV. Across from the lobby desk stands a coffee bar that serves Starbucks coffee, pastries, salads, and sandwiches for a quick and convenient snack. With free high-speed Wi-Fi, the lounge creates a perfect environment for working away from the office.

A bar, restaurant, and café were rehabbed into the new space. “Vistas” café offers a continental buffet breakfast until 10 AM. “Good Spirits” bar offers finger foods paired with a wide selection of wine, beer, and craft cocktails. Legends Restaurant serves guests an award-winning fine dining experience in an elegant atmosphere.

Moving outside, the 18-hole golf course has renovated features as well. For non-golfers, the outdoor and indoor pools, on-site fitness center, and 2-mile walking trail provide plenty of recreational options to explore during your stay.

Guest Room Updates

Every guest room has been renovated with contemporary designs and features throughout. Each room now features a flat-screen TV, a beautifully updated bathroom, a complimentary refrigerator, padded carpeting, and a digitally-controlled thermostat. For further guest convenience, all units provide wall safes, new double pane windows, and improved access for guests with disabilities.

Another new addition to the hotel are the “Stay Well” guest rooms, focused on providing extra care for those who may need it. Stay Well guest rooms feature health and wellness focused amenities such as air purification, memory foam mattresses, sunrise light-simulation, hypoallergenic cleaning products, and an aromatherapy feature. The Lincoln Theater Showroom

The Lincoln Theater, where we hold our in-person seminars, has a new lounge with a panoramic view of Lancaster and additional bathrooms.  An elevator goes from the hotel entrance directly to the Lincoln Lounge.
