Treating suicidal clients is clinically difficult because suicidal behavior is complex and multidetermined. It is also emotionally difficult because so much is at stake. Effective prevention and treatment of suicidal clients includes a thorough assessment, lethal means counseling, and evidence informed interventions. The importance of empathy, active
Listening, clinical judgment, collaboration, and client preferences will be stressed.
Afternoon Session Overview: Telemental health has become a significant part of almost all aspects of mental health treatment. As clinicians incorporate telemental health services into their daily work, questions arise regarding best practices and how to deliver practical, ethical, and successful telemental health. This webinar will address informed consent for telemental health, HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality, assessment issues, office and technology information, providing virtual supervision, reimbursement for telemental health and working across state borders through PSYPACT.
